Our Spring Training Breaks offer 3 days of challenging and spectacular riding. A wonderful way to kickstart the season and great preparation for those aiming for big events later in the year. These long weekends exploit the many 'mid altitude' climbs and cols that, even after after the snowiest winters, will be sure to be open.
The schedule for this trip is extremely flexible, some of the major high altitude cols could be opening at this time and if they're open we'll do them!
The Schedule:
Thursday
Arrive Geneva Airport (1600-1900). We'll pick you up, drive you to our Tarentaise base in where you'll get dinner and a briefing for the next day.
Friday
After breakfast and setting up the bikes we'll head off to tackle the Col de Tamie followed by the Col de L'Epine. Around 1300m of climbing and 100 km.
Saturday
Col des Saisies will be our main goal with perhaps the addition of the Col des Aravis if the legs are up to it. Up to 1800m of climbing and 100 km.
Sunday
The climb to Notre Dame du Pre will test us in the morning followed by a spectacular 'balcony' ride on the Versant Soleil above Bourg St Maurice and Aime. Around 1500m of climbing and 90km.
Back to the chalet to pack with a view to getting flights out of Geneva between 1900 and 2200.
The routes we suggest for you each day are very flexible and subject to change, weather conditions at high altitude will dictate our decision each day. Each ride will incorporate different options so that everyone gets to ride at a pace and distance that fulfills their individual needs and goals.
